Christine was a car built by Plymouth in the United States in 1957. The car was named after the novel of the same name by Stephen King. The novel was made into a movie in 1983 and the car was featured prominently in the film.
The Plymouth Fury was introduced in 1956 as Plymouth’s top-of-the-line model. The following year the company came out with an even more luxurious version of the Fury which they called the “Christine.” The Christine was available in two-tone color schemes and came with more chrome trim than the standard Fury. It was also equipped with a V8 engine power steering and power brakes.
The Christine was only produced for one year 1957 and was discontinued after poor sales. Plymouth had planned to produce a 1958 model of the Christine but the car was never put into production.
Today the Plymouth Fury is a highly sought-after collector’s item and the Christine is the most desirable Fury model. Christine Furys are very rare and command high prices when they are put up for sale.
If you’re lucky enough to own a Christine Fury you have a truly unique piece of automotive history.
