Who made the GTX car?

The GTX was a muscle car produced by the American automaker Plymouth from 1967 to 1970. The GTX was positioned as a more upscale and performance-oriented version of Plymouth’s Belvedere and was offered only as a two-door hardtop with a powerful V8 engine.

The GTX was introduced in 1967 as Plymouth’s answer to the Chevrolet Camaro SS and the Ford Mustang GT. The GTX was available with a variety of different engines including a 375 horsepower (280 kW) 440 cu in (7.2 L) Super Commando V8 which made it one of the fastest American cars of its time.

The GTX was discontinued after the 1970 model year with Plymouth instead focusing on its new Road Runner model. However the GTX name would be revived in 1988 for a new performance-oriented version of the Plymouth Satellite.

Today the Plymouth GTX is a sought-after classic car with well-preserved examples commanding high prices on the collector car market.
